Network Heaven distributes On the Nose glasses to the needy in Sri Lanka

Network Heaven is a small registered charity operating under the Frenchs Forest Baptist Church in Sydney. They aim to assist children and women living in poverty in Sri Lanka. As part of this project they provide each child with a gift pack during the Christmas season. The gift pack is designed to provide essential items for the new school year together with some toiletry items, a new set of clothes, underwear and a small toy or novelty item of some sort. The impact this can have on a poor child in Sri Lanka is enormous

Gifts are distributed amongst rural villages without access to provincial towns and shops. Most children have lost at least one parent, many are in orphanages.

Ladies from the church community in Sydney makes culturally suitable dresses for girls, and many unwanted clothes (even old school uniforms) are refashioned into suitable attire for mothers and even elders. Other valuable donations forwarded from time to time include caps, bags, mugs, drink bottles and various other practical, useful items.

Each year, donors are sought in mid-July, gathered together by September in time for a 1st October shipping deadline.

On the Nose was very pleased to included about 600 pairs of reading glasses this year to be distributed to children, women and elders who need them.
